Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
Recommend a grant directly from your Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, BNY Mellon, or other DAF account to support local cancer care.
Financial Advisors
If you are working on behalf of a client or family office and need customized giving options or tax documentation, please contact our donor services team.
Qualified Charitable Distribution
Donors age 70½ & older can make a tax-free gift directly from an IRA to the Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation. A QCD satisfies Required Minimum Distributions while reducing taxable income.
Tax benefits - Your Impact
HCHF donors can deduct up to $1,000 (single filer) or $2,000 (married couples) in charitable donations of cash, even if they don't itemize. As a donor you can benefit from your gift now while making an impact at HCHF. (*Note: gifts to donor-advised funds are excluded).
*You can claim your HCHF gift on top of the standard deduction:
For this year, that deduction is $16,100 for single filers and $32,200 for married couples filing jointly. If you are 65 years or older, you may claim a higher standard deduction - $2,050 more if you are a single filer (or head of a household); $1,650 more per qualifying individual if you are married filing jointly or separately, or are a qualifying surviving spouse.
*Other benefits for donors age 65 or older:
Through the 2028 tax year, HCHF donors can claim yet another deduction - up to $6,000 for an individual; or $12,000 if married and both spouses qualify. (*Note: this deduction phases out for taxpayers with higher incomes, thus we recommend discussing this with your tax professional).
*Charitable Giving strategies:
Perhaps you don't itemize but you may still benefit if you give appreciated stock or real estate to HCHF, which eliminates capital gains tax on the growth. If you are 70-1/2 or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA. Donors pay no tax on the distribution, and if you are required to take minimum distributions, it can satisfy all or part of that obligation.
