About HCHF
The national Board of Directors and staff of the Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation holds highly developed expertise in chronic disease public health, clinical research, nonprofit management and development, scientific and medical communications, physician management, nonprofit event planning, and grants administration. With headquarters located near the global medical center of the Houston metropolitan area in Texas, the staff is passionate about saving more lives of Hispanics suffering from cancer nationwide. The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation team consists of clinical researchers, nurses, physicians, chemists, MD/PhD physician-scientists, post-doctoral fellows, and experienced GCP, CITI-trained internationally Certified Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP®s) that have served as PI's/co-PI's in the fields of cancer medicine, science, healthcare, clinical trials, and biomedical technology, who work together to achieve our mission.
In addition to increasing cancer patient education and advocacy, the HCHF team works to foster and maintain collaborations with physician investigators, academic partners, and industry partners. At the Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation, we value diversity and proactively foster an environment where teamwork is valued and rewarded. Cancer researchers can often spend their career in different fields, from academia, studying cancer through basic research and post-doctoral programs, to working in laboratories, testing pharmaceutical agents/novel drugs through experimentation and clinical trials. With access to highly skilled workforce of the greater Houston medical center located in the Houston-Galveston metroplex and its surrounding areas, we collaborate to proactively effectuate the best training outcomes for the next generation of cancer researchers and scholars who want to make an impact in the oncology and surgical oncology fields, while simultaneously working to make a difference for a vulnerable population suffering from the burden of a chronic disease in our community. We share the core service belief that to whom much is given, much is expected. Thus, HCHF was established to streamline that path within a carefully constructed public health lens as dual public servants and stewards of our community.

HCHF mission is to:
- Perform cancer research, provide education and mentorship
- Positively improve the health of Hispanics
- Provide the assistance people need for the health problems they face in the battle against cancer
- Provide scientific clinical research training opportunities to underrepresented students and minority scholars interested in making an impact in cancer medicine
- Improve clinical trial enrollment and survivorship practices amongst Hispanic people’s lives
HCHF vision is to:
Eradicate cancer and transform science education to better support undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds working to make a difference in cancer medicine and research. The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation has developed strategic initiatives and partnerships to integrate our commitment to diversity and equity in scientific research and cancer medicine. The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation programs provide professional development to improve the experience of medical science for traditionally underrepresented Hispanic and African American research-scholars.

HCHF Strategy
1. Improve patient experience and help to deliver truly patient-centered care
The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation accomplishes its mission and vision through integrated strategies that include empowering the Hispanic community to participate in an equitable healthcare delivery process, promoting research that advances underrepresented minority engagement in cancer medicine.
2. Develop the careers and enhance the wellbeing of minority/people of color healthcare staff and researchers
The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation provides STEM training/education on clinical research. HCHF empowers students and scholars with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete their medical, clinical and healthcare higher education goals, while providing support services to as many exceptional students and HCHF Health Research Scholars as possible.
3. Enable innovation in health and care within the Hispanic community and the wider health system
The Hispanic Cancer Health Foundation accomplishes its mission through integrated strategies that include empowering the Hispanic community to participate equitably in a healthcare delivery process, promoting research that advances Hispanic engagement, and increasing the effectiveness of underrepresented minority healthcare researchers.
